Our mission:

Our mission is to help reshape your relationship with technology by informing, educating, and providing alternatives for some all-important offline disconnection.

A bit about us…

FlippGen is run by a group of like-minded parents who want to try and make sure that kids and teens can enjoy their childhood without the constant need for smartphones and social media until they are old enough to better understand the complexities of the digital world.

Our mission is to provide the following:

  • Simple and concise information designed for the younger generation

  • Education and advice to help set rules and open discussions from a child to parent perspective.

  • Tips on creating a healthier digital life balance

  • Alternative basic phone options and suggestions for real-world hobbies and activities.

We are certainly not the first, and hopefully we won’t be the last. The current movement is both amazing and terrifying in equal measure. But a lot of the conversation is just between the “grown ups” - parents / schools / tech companies / the government.

But what about the kids we are all trying to protect! We want to work with our kids to educate them (and us, their parents) about the use of smartphones and social media.

Think of us as a conversation starter…

When families, schools, and communities work together, we can create a supportive environment for our children. Shared responsibility ensures that strategies for managing screen time and better digital habits are consistent and reinforced across different areas of our children’s lives.

There is no “right answer”. But by combining our efforts, individuals and organisations can contribute to creating a digital environment that is much safer, more ethical, and better suited to the needs of our children.
