FlippGen 2026 Youth Advisory Board

What is a Digital Rebel?

Someone who consciously challenges unhealthy digital norms and chooses a more mindful, balanced relationship with tech.

Know tech, not no tech

This is not about rejecting technology - it’s about using it with intention.

Take back your time

Create boundaries, feel better, and spend more time on what matters offline.

The FlippGen youth advisory board of Digital Rebels is made up of young people aged 18-25, from across the country. They are not just part of FlippGen’s work; they are FlippGen. As a youth-led organisation, all key decisions are made by the Digital Rebels.

I am a mental health and digital wellbeing campaigner, driven by lived experience and a belief that better systems can change lives. I have spent the last four years campaigning to improve mental health support and reduce stigma, drawing on my own experience of living with OCD since the age of 13. I am especially passionate about digital wellbeing, which I believe plays a crucial role in positive mental health. Alongside my work with FlippGen, I campaign with other charities and create and host my own mental health podcast.

I love to create and to advocate (art, music, literature, politics: all my thing.) I'm currently studying my A-Levels in media, literature and psychology. I'm a Digital Rebel because I'm passionate about advocating for young people to use their screens proactively and moderately. I know how it feels to get sucked into your screen, especially when you're feeling low!

#iamflippgen because in our age of misinformation and AI generated content, I want everyone to know that it's so important to remember to live and take a break from the socials.

I’m an undergrad student at Royal Holloway studying Psychology and Criminology. I love to draw and paint, and I never shy away from debating and meeting new people.

#iamflippgen because as a person who has ridden the ‘waves’ of early gen internet, I want my younger siblings to stay safe on the internet (amongst the rapidly increasing popularity of social media for young people).

I’m a final year Psychology and Counselling student with the Open University with an interest in going forward to support young peoples’ wellbeing. I’m a volunteer at my local youth support service and on the youth advisory board for a wellbeing charity. Having experienced the impacts of the online world myself on mental health, I’m looking to start my ‘journey’ in an area I understand. I recognise that using social media is an inevitable part of our lives now, so educating others on how to do this safely is increasingly important!

#iamflippgen because I want to support those around me.

I am 21 years old, currently studying Artificial Intelligence at Royal Holloway, University of London and advocating for AI Governance with the WIAIG group . I have been a digital safety advocate for basically all of my teen years, starting at Childnet and doing so for around 6 years (since I was 13). Alongside this, I’ve been on youth advisory boards for both Microsoft and the UN, advocating for young people all around the world as well as in the UK. I’ve always had a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence but I believe there is still quite a long way to go before it is completely safe for all to use, which is one of the main reasons I have recently started advocating for AI governance. I hope to be able to help make some major changes and amplify the voices of young people!

#iamflippgen because I am always determined on creating a safer and more trustworthy digital space for everyone, no matter how long it takes!

I have been campaigning on a variety of topics since I was about 11! I started on a local anti-bullying campaign (with a particular focus on cyber-bullying) called thinkb4youtype and then became part of the NSPCC’s first-ever Young People’s Board for Change. It was there that my passion for online safety was ignited as I had the incredible opportunity to help campaign for the Online Safety Act. I use my lived experience to talk about the impact of bullying, mental health, and what growing up in the online world is like, and I am now in my second year of university studying Childhood & Youth and Politics, where we study in depth about children’s rights and how to amplify young people’s voices.

I'm Kate, a first year Psychology with Education student at the University of York.

I believe the first step to improving young peoples well-being is education, that's why I love my degree, allowing me to learn psychology with an educational perspective, helping me gain knowledge to help educate our next generations.

My passion for well-being stems from personal experience, where first hand I felt the isolation of mental illness, and the harmful effects of social media. The more I learn, the more I realise just how many people are being effected by the same things I was, this pushes me to help create changes within well-being spheres, with the hope of helping young people to live safer, happier lives.

Creative media has been at the core of my journey from an early age, evolving into producing original music, videos, and branded content while running my own creative business. As a verified music artist, I’ve developed strong skills in storytelling, digital production, and entrepreneurship, learning how to balance creativity with strategy.

My work has taken me onto global stages, including performing my original music at the World Scout Jamboree in Korea and at the Royal Festival Hall with the Philharmonia Orchestra. Alongside this, I’ve spent over nine years building experience across video, music production, and design, creating content for diverse audiences and clients worldwide.

Through this, I’ve developed a passion for using digital creativity to connect people, tell meaningful stories, and push boundaries across styles and platforms.
