TikTok Family Pairing

Family Pairing lets you link your TikTok account to your child's so you can manage their settings remotely — without needing to know their password.

How to Set It Up

  1. Open TikTok on your phone and tap Profile, then the three-line menu.

  2. Go to Settings > Family Pairing.

  3. Select Parent and follow the instructions to generate a QR code.

  4. On your child's phone, open TikTok and go to the same menu.

  5. Select Teen and scan the QR code from your phone.

  6. You're now linked — manage everything from your own TikTok account.

What You Can Control

  • Screen time limits — set a daily maximum and a passcode to enforce it.

  • Restricted Mode — filters out content that may not be appropriate.

  • Direct Messages — turn off or limit who can message your child.

  • Search — disable search so your child only sees the For You feed.

Tip: TikTok automatically restricts accounts under 16 from direct messages, but Family Pairing lets you add extra layers on top of those defaults.
