Parental Controls on an Amazon Fire / Kindle Tablet
Amazon's Fire tablets are popular with younger kids and have excellent built-in parental controls through Amazon Kids (formerly FreeTime).
Setting Up Amazon Kids
From the home screen, swipe down and tap Settings.
Tap Parental Controls, then turn them on.
Create a parental controls password.
Tap Amazon Kids and follow the setup to add your child's profile.
Choose an age range — Amazon will automatically filter content to suit their age.
What You Can Control
Which apps, books, videos and games your child can access.
Daily screen time limits — set different limits for weekdays and weekends.
Bedtime — the tablet locks itself at a time you choose.
Web browsing — you can block it completely or limit to approved sites.
In-app purchases — always block these!
Tip: Kids Mode changes the whole look of the phone — it becomes colourful and child-friendly. Your child won't be able to exit without your PIN.
